i can see the light at the end of the tunnel! "spring forward" is one of my favorite times of the year. the crisp, sunny mornings help my day start off on the right foot. i think we've all been longing for some warmth and sun. no more short, gloomy days!
last weekend, I was able to fit in a visit with my sister! the snow, of course, made our weekend visit a lot shorter. we definitely had a fun-filled 24 hours. goodness, I was craving some family time! my parents moved from being just two hours away to seventeen. seventeen! my sister is just about four aways away, so a weekend getaway was perfect.
we arrived late friday evening to a delicious meal. my sister has some serious skills in the kitchen. after that, we headed on over to meet her boyfriend and their friends for a little get together. little rock is so fun! i absolutely love going back to my home state, even if it isn't my hometown.
the next morning, we arose and fixed some breakfast and made yummy lattes! homemade is just the bees knees. we all got ready to do some mountain climbing! pinnacle mountain is beautiful and it was such a clear day that we were able to get some great views. there are two ways to get up the mountain; the nice, built-in trail that is on one side of the mountain. and the actual rock climbing on the other side. up to the challenge and wanting to get in a good workout, we started to climb those rocks!

this was about the halfway point. we climbed up and down!
we saw quite a few people at the top enjoying the views and the warmish day. we had to hit the road in the next few hours so after we all somehow made it down in one piece, it was time to eat! my sister and her boyfriend, brian, took us to this awesome restaurant called "the big orange." they only serve grass-fed meat, cage-free eggs, and local ingredients. we each ordered a different type of hamburger and I really couldn't tell you whose was the best. i'll definitely be going back!
it was so nice to get away for even just a day. it was a nice mini-break and i loved seeing my sister! i'm so looking forward to spending my spring break with my parents- i feel like a little kid on christmas night!
just getting started- walking to the base of the mountain!
great photo finish :)
we went and checked out the lake side of pinnacle- so pretty!!
how can we climb a mountain and not take a yoga pose? my sister has been loving her yoga classes!
thankful to have been able to make more memories with this hunk
cristina- thank you so much for having us and showing us a great time! can't wait for another visit here soon. love you sista!
hope you all have a great start to what is hopefully the beginning of spring!
