has it really been this long? goodness, time flies by. what a whirlwind this month has been! i think its safe to say that we are all looking forward to some spring weather. we're almost there y'all, we're almost there. i secretly love this time of year. where you can feel winter's end and hope for spring's beginning. so many adventures and fun crafts to plan!
if you're anything like me, you can plan all you want and write a million post-its notes and reminders and still forget or not have enough time to do those fun plans. i hate to ask this, mainly because I'm a little scared of what my answer is... am i too busy? I've mentioned that i am currently a student teacher- and i am loving it so far! however, it is definitely one of the hardest and most time consuming things i've ever done. I'm trying really hard to not "take my work home with me", but thats a little impossible. if I'm not at school teaching or interacting with my students, i'm home creating lessons, preparing for the next day, and thinking about my students. with each week, i've gotten better at creating a bit of cushion between the first part of my day and the last part of my day. I'm trying to get back into yoga (love it!) and going to the gym after school each day are great ways to let my mind kind of process my day to when I get done with my workout, my mind feels a lot more refreshed. I miss my crafting time. I miss my reading time. I miss just having time. but i'm loving the time that I have with my students and learning so much about myself as a teacher. i'm hoping life will slow down a little and that I will be able to do a better job of making the time to do the other things that i love.
remember those goals i shared about a month ago? well, they're surprisingly going well! I admit, I was a little skeptical when I was about to reflect on the past month. but hey, we haven't fallen off the wagon! I don't know about you, but i haven't been one to stick to a goal for a good amount of time. i'll definitely give myself a little pat on the back. ha!
since it is february, i have to share my valentines day! okay, okay. I don't have to. but i am still swooning over my night! I arrived at Eric's house to find beautiful flowers at the dinner table and a delicious looking meal being cooked. y'all, he looked so handsome in that kitchen! we both got all dressed up and enjoyed such a lovely evening together. after our evening, we met up with some friends for a bit, and then picked up dessert and a movie. it was a very happy valentines indeed!

he did so good!
that weekend, we also paid a visit to the humane society. I wanted to go just to play and see the puppies! i swear. but... then I found this sweet, sweet little chocolate lab/hound mix. you guessed it... i fell in love. we were there with her for about two hours. we went back about a week and a half later after I called and asked if she still hasn't been adopted. unfortunately, I am not able to care for a puppy at this time. but boy, I am counting down the days until I can! hopefully this summer! keeping my fingers crossed.
ugh... you guys.
here's to the rest of winter and a better time-making-me!
- how do you manage a busy schedule?
