Here I am in sunny Florida, getting spoiled by my grandparents. Grandparents are just the best! I've been lucky enough to spend almost every single Christmas here since I've been born. Everyone talks about a white Christmas, but Florida's white sand is just as good! ha!
As you can see from my previous post, I just recently finished my senior season. Soccer has been such a big and important part of my life ever since I could remember. I couldn't tell you how many friendships I've made because of it or all the experiences I've gone through that helped shape who I am today. I am so thankful for the opportunity to have played at the top collegiate level. Four years sure go by fast! Pre-season seems like it was only last month. With all things, there were ups and downs, great times and horrible times, and moments that tested your spirit as an athlete and human.
I believe that I was ready to hang up the cleats, so to speak, and I'm so blessed to not have very many regrets. There's a saying, "leave it all on the field." We always think we could have done something better and that's natural. However, there's nothing looming over my head or weighing on my heart, and for that I thank my teammates- my best friends and my second family.
The transition from college athlete to a post-college athlete has been hard for me. I've taken six weeks off. SIX! Yes, yes, we need to rest and recuperate and just relax. But goodness, I get antsy just thinking about the weeks I've done hardly any physical activity. The second day I got to Florida, the exercise bug bit me. Hallelujah!
I've been following a wellness and exercise blog for a while now, but would just skim through the posts and move on. I had three coaches telling me what to do, when to do it, and at what intensity to do the workouts in. Ever since the season has ended and knowing that I'm done with college soccer, I've felt lost! You'd think all those years of workouts I would have had all the tools necessary to have an amazing exercise regiment. NOPE! I'm lost I tell ya. I came across this blog again and I am ever so thankful! I definitely suggest you visit it! It has yummy, affordable, and easy recipes, heart-pumping and hard workouts, and she makes it very fun and encouraging. Hop on over to http://www.pbfingers.com and take a look around.
*Thank you, Julie!
Today I completed a jumping jack circuit. Ouch! I found this on the blog I mentioned above. It definitely kicked my butt. I was kept easily entertained with all of the different movements. Check it out!
Hasta luego!
